Diversity at Cone

Real focus, deep commitment.

Our mission statement reflects Cone Communiations’ interest in fostering a diverse work environment and opening our recruitment channels to capture candidates of all types of backgrounds.

To bolster diversity and inclusion, Cone has established the following commitments:

  • An active Diversity & Inclusion Committee that drives progress in the space. We meet bi-monthly and are composed of staff from all service areas.
  • A partnership with the LaGrant Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to increase the number of ethnic minorities in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations by providing scholarships, career development workshops, professional development, mentors and internships to African American, American Indian/Native American, Asian Pacific American and Hispanic/Latino undergraduate and graduate students.
  • An alliance with the Boston Collegiate Charter School, “a safe, academically rigorous public school that would offer children from every Boston neighborhood the opportunity to receive an education that would prepare them for college.” We organize several impactful engagements with student and faculty throughout the school year.
  • Cone Communications’ PR Career Boost. Each semester Cone hosts an exciting, interactive platform for students of diverse backgrounds from local universities who may be thinking about a career in the fields of PR, marketing or communications. The students visit the office, hear from staff about their career paths and work in teams to pitch a winning PR program to a panel of judges. Students also learn about our internship program and have the opportunity to interview for openings.
