This is what we stand for.
Our 2010 Corporate Responsibility Report reflects our commitment to be transparent about the highs and lows of our journey and to continuously improve. Overall, we met every goal we set for ourselves in 2008 and achieved even more than we set out to do. Among other efforts, we developed a company-wide social engagement strategy; established an employee volunteer partnership with a local, bilingual school in our community; reduced our year-over-year emissions by 20 percent; and increased the total number of employees working on an alternative work schedule to 25 percent.
Although we have made significant progress, as we took a close look at our efforts on behalf of our employees, our environment and our community, inevitably we ran into areas where we have room for improvement. These areas are detailed in this report, and I am encouraged that we have already seen progress toward improvements in 2010.
Our 2010 Corporate Responsibility Report also outlines our future commitments. In addition to enhancing employee relations, we are committing to several new and exciting social and environmental goals, including a decrease in our carbon footprint and an increase in employee volunteerism.
As we measure ourselves against our key performance indicators and future goals, we will always be open about our successes and challenges and strive to deliver on our commitment to Better Business. Greater Good.
