CHERYL HERBERT JOINS CONE COMMUNICATIONS
BOSTON (July 7, 2015) – Cone Communications, a public relations and marketing agency, has hired Cheryl Herbert as Vice President of Client Partnerships & Business Development. Cheryl will lead the agency’s new business and agency partnership efforts, drawing on her nearly 25 years of experience in brand and marketing communications, including past roles with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and Octagon.

Prior to joining Cone, Cheryl was the Director of Marketing Communications for the USOC, where she oversaw PR and marketing communications for the Committee’s 60+ sponsors and licensees. During her time with the USOC, Cheryl developed the organization’s first-ever athlete publicity campaign in partnership with NBC. The innovative campaign transformed athlete publicity from the traditional sports pages to mainstream consumer lifestyle media and social marketing - a media model that is still in place today. Following her run at the USOC, Cheryl was Director of Partnership Marketing for Octagon’s Talent and Personality Division of Olympics and Action Sports. While there, she developed customized marketing platforms that resulted in partnership programs with some of today’s leading corporations including Proctor & Gamble, Nestle, MARS, and Johnson & Johnson, to name a few.
