2008 Business in Social Media Study

Cone is pleased to announce the release of the 2008 Business in Social Media Study. According to the survey, 59 percent of American consumers who use social media sites and tools are already interacting with businesses through social media, so it’s time for companies to start meeting their consumers where they already are. We also asked respondents how they felt about companies with a social media presence and the most appropriate social media interactions.

Key Findings Include:

30% of Americans use social media sites and tools two or more times a week

34% of social media users believe companies should have a presence in the social media environment and interact with consumers

43% of users believe the role of companies within social networks should be to problem solve (e.g., virtual customer service)
